You have to qualify for an affordable rental car on Oahu, but you don’t have to be an Oahu resident to find an affordable one.
You just need to qualify as an Owahee-Hualapai resident and you can rent your car from any Oahu car rental business.
To qualify, you have to show a current income of $200 or less per month, have at least six months of free parking on the property, and a current address on O’ahu, which is also proof of residence.
You can also get a lease with no payment.
You also have to pay the rental car company a $1,000 deposit (for a total of $1.4 million) to secure the car.
This means the cost of renting a car is about $2,500 a month.
The minimum monthly payment is $900, and if you want to get a more expensive car, you can pay $2.5 million.
There are also incentives available to help you save money and avoid paying an additional fee.
To find an O’Hare car rental on OOahu, head to the car rental section on the Honolulu Office of Economic Development’s website.
